History and Meaning of the Obelisk

Remember the odd, yet surreal movie 2001: a Space Odyssey? The movie was created in 1968, and considering the idea of artificial intelligence, space exploration with a super computer HAL 9000, it was a movie ahead of its time. One of the major scenes in the space-opera movie is the black obelisk.

In the beginning of the movie, the backdrop is a primordial Earth, with dumb apes barely on the evolution scale. Then the mysterious obelisk appears. The obelisk represented some means to ‘evolve’ or advance the ape men by providing knowledge.

Later in the movie, it represents a doorway, where the educated man transfers to a higher conscious. Again, the obelisk is depicted as an advancement, transformation for the human evolution. Ever curious what an obelisk truly represents, and the origin?

Before we dive into that, you should be aware the obelisk is worldwide and heavily in United States. There are over 50 obelisks in the United States alone. The most notable is the Washington Monument. The Washington Monument has the height of 555.5 feet, which is equal to 6,666 inches. At the ground level each side of the monument measures 55.5 feet in width, which is equal to 666 inches each side.

Viewing this side by side to an Egyptian Obelisk, they look nearly identical. There are 26 known ancient Egyptian obelisks.  The oldest known obelisk by the Egyptians were formed the Early Dynastic Period (c. 3150-c. 2613 BCE). The Washington Memorial build began 1848 and was not completed till after the Civil War.

Wikipedia defines an obelisk as:

An obelisk (/ˈɒbəlɪsk/; from Ancient Greek: ὀβελίσκος obeliskos; diminutive of ὀβελός obelos, “spit, nail, pointed pillar”) is a tall, four-sided, narrow tapering monument which ends in a pyramid-like shape or pyramidion at the top. These were originally called tekhenu by their builders, the Ancient Egyptians. The Greeks who saw them used the Greek term ‘obeliskos’ to describe them, and this word passed into Latin and ultimately English. Ancient obelisks are monolithic; that is, they consist of a single stone. Most modern obelisks are made of several stones; some, like the Washington Monument, are buildings.

It is significant to understand an obelisk can also be a building. The new World Trade Center is also built as an obelisk and was inspired by the Washington Monument.

The original Obelisk was created by Queen Semiramis to honor her son/husband, Nimrod. The story is she was in the city of Ashur. She had an obelisk built and inscribed, which read:

Stele of Sammuramat, queen of Shamshi-Adad, King of the Universe, King of Assyria, Mother of Adad Nirari, King of the Universe, King of Assyria, Daughter-in-Law of Shalmaneser, King of the Four Regions of the World.

Nimrod was the son of Cush, grandson of Ham, and great-grandson of Noah. He had killed his father Cush and married his mother Semiramis. The obelisk represents his male shaft. You have to understand Semiramis was an occultist steep in sex magic and sex-cult. Nimrod, Semiramis and Tammuz were worshiped. After the languages were changed in Babel, the 70 groups (new languages) spread out telling the same cult worship, under differing names. I made a page of those names in different regions here. I will continue to work on this page, updating it as time allows.

Tom Horn in his book Apollyon Rising 2012 conveys it well.

In ancient times, the Obelisk represented the god Osiris’ “missing” male organ, which Isis was not able to find after her husband/brother was slain and chopped into fourteen pieces by Seth. Isis replaced the missing organ with an Obelisk and magically impregnated herself with Horus, the resurrected Osiris.

This legend formed the core of Egyptian cosmology and was fantastically venerated on the most imposing scale throughout all of Egypt by towering Obelisks, including at Karnak where the upright Obelisks (of Osiris) were “vitalized” or “stimulated” from the energy of the masturbatory Sun god Ra shining down upon them.

Thus the obelisk is simply a male organ being displayed and worshiped by all.  In ancient Egypt they were normally placed in pairs at the entrance of temples.

Why the worship of Nimrod’s phallic or Sun regarding this ancient Babylonian fertility cult?

Below are some excerpts from The Masculine Cross to provide that answer.

Among the ancients, whether the Sun, the Serpent, orthe Phallic Emblem was worshipped, the idea was the same—the veneration of the generative principle.

The Phallus, or Lingam, which stood for the image of the male organ, or emblem of creation, has been worshipped from time immemorial. Payne Knight describes it as of the greatest antiquity, and as having prevailed in Egypt and all over Asia. The women of the former country carried in their religious processions, a movable Phallus of disproportionate magnitude, which Deodorus Siculus informs us signified the generative attribute. It has also been observed among the idols of the native Americans and ancient Scandinavians, while the Greeks represented the Phallus alone, and changed the personified attribute into a distinct deity, called Priapus.

Phallus, then, was the ancient emblem of creation : a divinity who was companion to Bacchus.

The Pole was an emblem of the Phallus, and with the serpent upon it, was a representative of its divine wisdom and symbol of life. The serpent upon the tree is the same in character, both are representative of the tree of life.

So we see the obelisk not only is representative of Nimrod’s phallus for sex cult worship, but also a representation of ‘divine wisdom’. Hence in 2001: A Space Odyssey, the obelisk provides wisdom to advance man’s evolution.
